Since its first release in 1988, the name Parker Coonawarra has represented outstanding quality, longevity and elegance from the region. Based in the very southern end of the Terra Rossa strip, the wines have always embodied a fine, long-lived, classic style. The Hesketh family became the custodians of the vision for Parker in 2013, and have continued with these ideals. The wines offer an exceptional insight into why the Coonawarra region became famous for powerful yet delicious cabernet. This includes a Langton's classification for the flagship First Growth bottling.
Winemaking Team
Andrew Hardy
Andrew - a fifth generation Hardy - comes from serious wine pedigree; his great great grandfather Thomas Hardy was known as the 'Father of the South Australian Wine Industry' after being an integral part of SA's inception into the wine world in the late 1800s.
Andrew began his  winemaking career, in 1982, working for Brian Croser at Petaluma. Over the ensuing years he did vintages  in California, Oregon and Bordeaux before coming back to take the reins at Knappstein, where he remained for almost a decade. Whilst in Clare, Andrew was awarded the Warren Winiarski Trophy for 'Best Cabernet in the World' and the Trophy for 'Best Australian Red Wine' for his Enterprise Cabernet, he was also pivotal in the industry's adoption of the Screwcap closure.
In October 2018 Andrew joined James Lienert and Keeda Zilm to complete the Parker Coonawarra Estate winemaking team, bringing with him over 36 years of invaluable experience and knowledge.
